… is a trip to The Bone Room. The Bone Room has always been one of my favorite shops, long before I started reading bones. Once I started reading bones, this shop took on the allure of a candy store to a six year old. They have a huge assortment of bones, bugs, shells, carvings, books, toys, stuffed animals (not the plushy kind…), and if you ask the counter person, X-rated carvings. They have a large snake and an aquarium full of live crickets. They even have an art gallery next door. I could go on and on talking about this amazing store, but I will let my iPhone photos do the talking for me. This is just a small sample of the many wondrous items available there.

Human Toe Bones
Believe it or not, a friend asked me to pick up some toe bones for him. I took this picture to text it to him to see if they were too small because they were out of the larger ones. He wouldn’t tell me what they were for. I have interesting friends.

Live snake. He has been there for many years.

My small haul for the day.
I usually make a few trips to the San Francisco Bay a year. I love seeing all my friends or attending a conference or workshops while there, but I plan my trip so that I will be able to get to the Bone Room sometime during my stay. It is always one of the highlights of my trip.
